Typographic Art
Design is an essential skill. It can be applied in any field, yet is rarely taught in a formal and explicit manner.

While at Carnegie Mellon, I was trained to use Adobe Illustrator to create compelling typographical works. Besides developing my sense of visual aesthetics and structure, these projects have the welcome side effect of drilling their student in the use of Adobe's visual design software.

Under our teacher Herbert Spencer, I learned to appreciate the importance of visual structure, and its effect in guiding the eye in ways that first seem subjective, but create very real effects on usability.
Besides Illustrator, I am also now familiar with tools such as Adobe InDesign, Dreamweaver, and Flash, as well as the means by which the products of each tool can be leveraged off the abilities of the others to create superior visualizations and communicative deliverables.

As a result of this training, I am able to produce interfaces that are sensible to the human eye and easy to comprehend.
