| For our final project, the Carnegie Mellon Human Computer Interaction Institute contracts the work of teams of students out to prominent clients in industry. From January to August, with full-time work over summer, I worked for NASA. Our design challenge was to research, design, build, test, and present a functional handheld interface for problem reporting by NASA technicians. We created PROPHET, NASA's effort to enable Problem Reporting on PRACA Handhelds by Engineers and Technicians, by facilitating the entry of all problem reports into the PRACA unified database. |
After substantial research, we designed, built, tested, and demonstrated a handheld device capable of quickly reporting problems to an online database in such a way as to compete with the use of paper. Our website describes a great deal of our research, and its results. I served as project manager. Our client was the NASA HCI Group; our professors were Brad Myers and Sue Fussell.
