Google Notebook GOMS Redesign
Bonnie John's CogTool is a fascinating new tool for fast and effective cognitive modeling of expert performance on interfaces that have not yet been created through the use of keyboard-level modeling GOMS, or KLM-GOMS.

Training in the application and use of GOMS cognitive models to predict the efficiency and time-on-task of proposed interfaces with high accuracy and minimal cost is one of the hallmarks of the Carnegie Mellon HCI Institute.

I chose to undergo additional GOMS training to refine my skills, and improve the objective quality of my interface designs.
As my final project, I studied the rapid movement of small pieces of information facilitated by the new Google Notebook. In practice, even the smallest perceived delay in note-taking will result in valuable information being channeled into a data morgue, limiting search and retrievability.

I used GOMS models to expose several major delays in Google Notebook, and to propose an efficient alternative design.
