Amusement Park Handheld
As a demonstration of our abilities in interaction design, I worked with a team of classmates to design a handheld device to improve the experience of visiting an amusement park.

We brainstormed a form of "magic ticket" (reminiscient of Willy Wonka's famous Golden Ticket) as a thin, context-aware handheld device to serve as a visitor's passport to enjoyment in the wonderland of the amusement park.

It is an interesting design challenge. It must be immediately usable to all visitors with absolutely no training. How would elders and little children use this?
We found our solution in moving beyond the restricted person-handheld interaction and onwards to the more natural, intuitive interaction the visitor creates between the handheld and the surrounding park.

This way, input and output to and from the device depend primarily on intuitive pointing and positioning movements of the device relative to interactive maps, posters, and other magic tickets.
